Massage Envy

Listen up Massage Envy. It is so wrong that you took $75 off a card that isn't mine but someone who paid as a birthday gift to me. This is considered theft. No I will not pay for the rest of my membership because I was not told the membership was for a year before I could cancel and wasn't given a contract. The employee only explained the perks. You don't deserve 1 star:(

I wish there was a way I could post comment about this location without rating. Definitely not deserve one star either. The rooms are so filthy and dusty that my allergies acted up. Last time i reminded one of the front desk staff privately as manager was talking to three other customers. Today I went there and it was worse. Tried to change rooms and they were the same. I asked manager to term out membership as I don’t want to go back. He refused to do that. Also his excuse was that he didn’t know and will take care of it. I was wondering how a manger doesn’t know, and after all isn’t that his job to check every day?

The reason I'm giving this location such a low rating is not because of the facility or massage itself. Rather, it's because of an overbearing manager who has no problem stressing clients AFTER their massage. After my massage yesterday, I approached the desk to check out. The man at the desk didn't ask how my massage was, but did ask if I wanted to become a member. While I find the question annoying every time I come in, I know everyone is just doing their job. I smiled and said, "No, thank you." "REALLY!? You don't want to become a member?" Still with a smile, but a little firmer, I said, "No, thank you." Sarcadtically, he said, "So you're going to pay $180 and just walk out and never come back?" Still smiling, but being intentional in sounding tired, "Yes." "Oh, don't say that. Why don't you want to be a member?" "I had a membership years ago. I'm good. I'm not getting a membership." "Oh, so you don't want to talk about it?" "No. And I'd like to enjoy the after effects of my massage and not be harassed into getting a membership." "Oh, no, I don't want to harass you. Holiday plans?" I was so annoyed that I was tight all over again. His attitude was a turn off. I started coming to that Massage Envy because I moved to Pearland and it was the closest facility. However, I immediately decided that it was worth the extra 15 minutes of driving to go back to using Milk + Honey Spa in Houston. In fact, I went later that day to actually destress and not be bullied after enjoying services. They appreciated the $399.55 I spent in services and products and actually told me to be safe getting home, rather than grilling me. Yesterday will likely be my last time using that Massage Envy, perhaps any one. Their massages, at their price point, are not as good as nicer spas, but that's to be expected. However, if the goal is to relax, aggressive sales tactics show a lack of commitment to customer service. I'd also suggest emotional intelligence and customer service training for that gentleman. I come out of sales and am paid for sales training. His tactics are counterproductive.
